Chairman introduces the attendants --Yoshiki, Mr.Masao Fujita who
is the deputy secretary general of the World Expo, and Dahlia who is
the vocalist of "I'll be your love". The chairman asked Yoshiki to
explain about World Expo.
Y: Wow, do I announce the expo?
C: Yes, please.
Y: I'm sorry I don't grasp the expo well, so...
C: Then, Mr.Fujita, could you please explain it?
Y: I think it's better.
Then Mr.Fujita explains the expo and told that he asked Yoshiki to
conduct at the opening ceremony.
C: Thank you, Mr.Fujita. Yoshiki san, is there any comment on it?
Y: It's better for me to be asked by the press agent.
C: Press Releases were distrubuted to you before this press conference
and it is announced that Yoshiki's solo project, VUK, will be released
on September 22. So please ask about it. Do you have any questions?
Abe from Sports Nippon: When did you have a request that you conduct "I'll
be your love" at the opening ceremony, and what did you think about
the request?
Y: I was requested it on December... hmmm... no, on October?... I
don't remember the exact time, but anyway, at the end of last year.
First, I didn't have an obvious image. After I heard that I would
conduct at the entrance scene of 120 nations, I got an image. Then I
started to arrange the song. I must confess that I finished the
arrangement just before I took an airplane from LA to Tokyo. I have a
confidence that it is excellent. There are 150 persons - iti is the
considerable number - so, I made the arrangement very complicated.
C: Is there any other question?
Kurihara from Daily Sports: I heard that you made an arrangement with
the advice of the professor of the music university in LA. Could you
please tell me how you did it in detail.
Y: I have been studying orchestration. This time, I discuss with one
of the professors.
Someone: Have you ever conducted before?
Y: Yes, I conducted at the concert at Tokyo International Forum. I
often conducted in my studio, but I think it is the first time for me
to conduct at such a big occasion. I am little nervous, but I
practiced a lot, so I can do it.
Someone: Five years and five months have been passed since you
conducted in front of the Emperor and Empress. How do you feel?
Y: It's very honorable to be made such an occasion.
Aoki from Mezamashi TV: When did you come back to Japan last time?
Y: On December. I came to Japan for attending the film preview of
Korean movie "Introducing my girlfriend".
A: There were lots of fans coming to Narita Airport and they screamed.
How did you feel it?
Y: I am very very happy. Although I scarcely showed on the stage after
X Japan's disband, they are still my fans. I think I'm a very lucky
artist.
A: Eternal Melody II will be released soon. Your fans have been
waiting your new album for 12 years.
Y: Yah, time passed so quickly!
A: What do you plan to do for fans?
Y: I am working VUK as my main project. EM II is to be regarded as a
silence before a storm. I think I would like to go into action in a
rock field.
A: So this year will be very expectable for your fans, right?
Y: I would like to release a new music (album) for expressing my
gratitude to fans. I was depressed because hide died, and I have been
frustrated many times. But still I can come to this point. I really
thank to my fans who have been supporting me for a long time.
A: Thank you.
C: Is there any other question?
Mr. Abe asked Yoshiki about the engagement of Norinomiya and Mr.
Yoshiki Kuroda who has the same name as Yoshiki, and is same age as
Yoshiki. Yoshiki said congratulations to them. And then someone asked
what did you talk with Norinomiya at the garden party at the Palace.
Y: I was so strained that I don't remember well. Maybe I talked about
my piano performance at the Anniversary. I think I said I did my best
but I don't remember well. I was very strained at that time. Oh, I
recaled to my mind... when I played as X Japan, my costume and hair
style were novel. I was told about that by the Emperor.
C: Are there any other questions?
Mr. Ichikawa of Nikkan Sports: Have you decided what clothes will you
wear?
Y: Basically I will wear swallow tailed coat. I am going to fit
clothes after this interview.
C: Yes, Mr. Matsubara of Sankei Sports.
M: I heard that you conduct an orchestra at the time of entrance march.
How long is it?
Y: It's about 9 minutes. Well, I made it 9 1/2 minutes. It depends on
the speed of entrance march, so I should adjust it.
Fujita: There are 121 participants from all over the world. I think it
will take about 8 to 9 minutes.
M: When I think of the Olympic games, I think it takes much longer for
all of them from 121 nations to march. Isn't it the different march
this time?
F: There are 3 people for each nation --one who carries the flag, the
representative of the nation and the attendent.
M: Have you already made a previous arrangement with the orchestra?
Y: No, not yet. I just finished making a score this morning -just
before I took the plane.
M: So do you go to Aichi soon after this?
Y: I will go to Aichi on March 21. Untill then, I try to check my
arrangement.
M: Thank you.
F: I would like to correct the number --121 nations and 4
international organizations.
C: Is there any other questions? Yoshiki san, do you have any specific
idea of the promotion of Violet UK?
Y: I will publish my work at any time.
C: At any time?
Y: Yes, September 22 is the day on which X Japan's disband was
announced.
C: Yes.
Y: Since I haven't slept well, I'm still in a dream. I'm sorry.

Someone: Could you tell me how do you participate the opening baseball
game of the Rakuten Eagles.
Y: Is it ok to my say this? No? Is it a secret? Please ask Mr.

Mr. Kuriyama of DailySports: I'd like to know your thinking that you
decided to debut VUK on the day of X Japan's disband?
Y: I started VUK as my solo project. But, basically it is a band, and
I think it is the second X Japan. If X Japan exists now, it might be
this type of band. Moreover, I think I can finish everything around
that date. Therefore I decide the debut on September 22.
Someone: Is it like Chapter 2 of X Japan?
Y: Yes, it is.
Someone: Are there 3 members in VUK?
Y: No, VUK is like an amoeba. It changes according to each songs.
There are 4 or 5 members at the present, but it is possible to
increase the number. When I began this project, I tried to take away
the frame of "band", so I think it's ok to change the member according
to each song, and each tour.
